Our Story

Our founder and CEO, William Sang, has been immersed in the sushi industry for over 15 years. Originally from Burma, William and his family moved to the United States in pursuit of new opportunities. Even as a high school student, he was drawn to entrepreneurship, working at his parents' sushi bar every day after school. There, he developed a deep appreciation for sushi craftsmanship and the business behind it.

Determined to turn his passion into something bigger, William dedicated himself to the industry. After graduating high school, he worked 80-hour weeks refining his skills and laying the groundwork for his own sushi business. His breakthrough came when a grocery store owner recognized his talent and gave him the opportunity to open his first in-store sushi location. With a clear vision, relentless work ethic, and the support of his parents, Fresh Sushilay was born.

What began as a single sushi counter has evolved into a trusted partner operating sushi bars in numerous locations nationwide, delighting customers daily with fresh, premium-quality sushi.
